La Verne Tops No. 1 Juniata

La Verne took down the nation's No. 1 team by delivering a 3-2 triumph over Juniata in the semifinals Friday at the Shirk Center in Bloomington, Illinois. The Leopards will face Emory for the national title at 8 pm ET Saturday.

Regional champions have been crowned and now it's time for the best in Division II to shine on the big stage when the D-II Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships start Saturday from Slippery Rock University.

The Collegeville Four

Only four teams remain in the D-III Tournament and three of the faces are very familiar. Bowdoin, taking on 2006 champ Ursinus, looks to defend its 2007 title. On the other side, Messiah comes in with six national runner-ups to its name, taking on upstart Tufts.

D-III Ready

The NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Track and Field Committee announced earlier this week the team and individual qualifiers for the 2008 Division III Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships, hosted by Hanover College. It all starts Saturday.
